Advocating for the rights of incarcerated girls and women.

We believe:

  • females rarely require imprisonment

  • all options to assist, support and rehabilitate at-risk girls & women should be considered

  • imprisonment of female people should happen as an absolute last resort in only the most extreme circumstances

  • the mother-baby bond must be prioritised

  • sex-based rights matter

The Universal Declaration on the Rights of Incarcerated Girls and Women is now available for governments around the world to ratify and implement.
